Archiving Policy
Journal of Tropical Agricultural Innovation (JTAI) is committed to ensuring long-term digital preservation and accessibility of all published content.
To maintain the security and sustainability of its archives, JTAI employs several archiving systems as follows:
1. OJS Archiving System
The journal is managed using the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform, which automatically performs regular backups and stores all journal data — including manuscripts, metadata, galley files, and supplementary materials — on the publisher’s server.
2. LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe)
JTAI participates in the LOCKSS system, allowing libraries at participating institutions to create permanent archives of the journal for preservation and restoration purposes.
The LOCKSS program ensures that multiple copies of each published item are safely stored across a network of distributed locations, guaranteeing continued access even in the event of system failures.
3. CLOCKSS (Controlled LOCKSS)
In addition to LOCKSS, JTAI also supports the CLOCKSS initiative — a global decentralized archiving system that provides long-term preservation for scholarly content.
4. PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN)
As an OJS-based journal, JTAI is registered in the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN) to ensure ongoing access to published materials even if the journal website becomes inactive.
5. Self-Archiving Policy
Authors and readers are permitted to:
-
Deposit and share the final published version (PDF) of their articles in institutional repositories, personal archives, or library databases;
-
Upload the published version to academic platforms such as ResearchGate, Academia.edu, or Google Scholar, provided that the original source and DOI are properly cited.
Through these measures, JTAI guarantees that all published articles remain secure, accessible, and permanently preserved for future generations.
