Author Guidelines

1. General Requirements

• Manuscripts submitted to Journal of Tropical Agricultural Innovation (JTAI) must be original research papers that have not been published elsewhere and are not under review in another journal.

• Manuscripts may be written in Indonesian or English with proper grammar and scientific style.

• Authors are fully responsible for the content, accuracy of data, and validity of references.

• All manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer-review process.

• No article processing charge (APC = free of charge).

2. Types of Manuscripts

• Original Research Articles – empirical research with a clear methodology and validated analysis.

• Review Articles – critical analysis and synthesis of recent scientific literature on tropical agriculture and applied technology.

• Short Communications – concise reports of novel and significant findings.

3. Manuscript Format

Manuscripts should be prepared in Microsoft Word (.docx) format, on A4 paper size, 1.15 spacing, 2.5 cm margins, and Times New Roman 12 pt font. Manuscript length: 10–15 pages, including tables and figures.

Structure:

1. Title – concise and informative (maximum 15 words).

2. Author(s) and Affiliation(s) – include full name, institutional affiliation, and corresponding email.

3. Abstract – up to 250 words, describing objectives, methods, key results, and conclusions, followed by 3–5 keywords.

4. Introduction – background, research gap, and objectives.

5. Materials and Methods – research design, study site, materials, and procedures.

6. Results and Discussion – present results clearly and discuss them with relevant references.

7. Conclusion – concise summary of main findings.

8. Acknowledgment – optional.

9. References – only include works cited in the text.

4. Citation and References

• Use APA Style (7th Edition) for both in-text citations and reference lists.

• Reference management software (e.g., Mendeley, Zotero, EndNote) is strongly recommended.

• Example in-text citations:

  • (Siregar & Putra, 2022) or Siregar and Putra (2022).

• Example reference entry:

  • Siregar, R., & Putra, D. (2022). Sustainable tropical farming systems in Indonesia. Journal of Agricultural Innovation, 5(2), 100–112. https://doi.org/xxxx

5. Figures and Tables

• Figures and tables must include titles and captions and should appear near their first citation in the text.

• All images must have a minimum resolution of 300 dpi.

• Reproduced material from other sources must include proper permissions and acknowledgments.

6. Ethics and Plagiarism

• All manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection software (e.g., Turnitin).

• The maximum acceptable similarity index is 20%.

• Authors must ensure all data and references are original and verifiable.

7. Review and Publication Process

• Manuscripts are evaluated in two stages: initial screening by editors and double-blind review by at least two reviewers.

• Review results will be categorized as accepted, minor revision, major revision, or rejected.

• Accepted manuscripts will undergo copyediting and layout editing before open-access publication.
